Launched in November 2021 as a way of recognising employees who go the extra mile in their roles with the company, our very first Employee of the Year Award has been won by production supervisor, Charlie Heyes!
Our Employee of the Year Award was established by the senior leadership team as a way to reward employees who go above and beyond their normal work activities in their day to day roles. As a coveted annual award, it also helps drive a culture of collaboration and team spirit within the company.
Charlie has worked at DataLase for 4 years and is currently a production supervisor, responsible for manufacturing products, warehouse management and stock control. The senior leadership team felt that Charlie’s attitude to his work and willingness to do anything asked of him was an endearing attribute. He is never constricted by his job description and is always looking at ways to help others. A good example of this was when the company had to move its laboratory internally from one unit to another. Charlie suggested that rather than use paid contractors to do some of the necessary building work, he would do the work/labour himself to save the company money.
Always having a smile on his face, Charlie is very personable, never complains and is just a pleasure to be around. A worthy winner of our first Employee of the Year Award.
In receiving the award, Charlie said: “I was very honoured to receive the first Datalase Employee of the Year Award. It is really appreciated, but it must have been a tough decision for the senior leadership team as there is a committed workforce here at DataLase, and it could have gone to a number of people.
“Glad I received it though, and I would just like to say thanks to Clare, Ally and Paul.”
Well done and many congratulations to Charlie, who received a trophy and gift as a prize.
